The idea that you would have to upgrade motherboards just because this model is "outdated" is ABSURD. Not everyone has unlimited funds and can arbitrarily upgrade just because a new model is released. If you bought this board with a 2500k, it is basically pointless to upgrade unless you want something like 3x SLI, are having an issue with this model that can't be fixed, NEED one of the new features (like pci-e 3.0, which provides almost zero benefit right now) or Ivy Bridge, which is not much of an upgrade over Sandy Bridge.
My point is, if you can't answer a question and all you're going to say is, "Get with the times, loser," then keep it to yourself. It's just embarrassing.
That being said, I would like to know this too - 1.D is a fine BIOS but I'm still having minor issues. I know that MSI recommends that you don't upgrade the BIOS to the most recent versions unless you have Ivy Bridge, but can anyone report their experiences with upgrading with Sandy Bridge? Does it address many of the issues that the post-1.D BIOS updates had?
