Ok so if i increase my dram voltage it will work with all 16gb installed instead of just 8? Also its so slow to boot. Any reason why?

Either that or you have to increase the I/O voltage. The IMC needs extra voltage with 4 dimms.

Cool for some, I guess. Now do it with 1.D unless you want everyone to suffer from CPU multiplier bugs or a lack of fan control.

Hey guys!! I got this mother board a couple weeks ago for my first build and it's been working great. I easily got my i7 2700K to 4.2GHz(Back to stock for now).

But now I really want to over clock the processor and see how far I can take it. I was just wondering if I should update the BIOS before I do it.

I have 1.B right now, would updating to the latest version be better, or can I just leave it as 1.B? Thanks!!

Leaving it as 1.B is fine, there's no difference when overclocking.

Hi, Im new around here!! Im in the process of building my first computer. I bought the P67A-GD80 as my motherboard two weeks ago as it said it was able to use the newer Ivy Bridge CPUs.
I initially wanted to buy the i5 2500k to go with this motherboard, but then I found out that the 3570k was only $10 difference. The thing is that I don't know if I am required update the BIOS in order for my motherboard to recognize the 3570k. So really my question is...
Do I have to update the BIOS first before putting in a 3570k or not?
And is the current BIOS version shown anywhere on the physical motherboard so that I can check if I can install a 3570k? such as a sticker or something?

Thanks! smile.gif

I don't recall a sticker on the chip or any other indicator of what bios version the board is shipped with on my MSI boards. I've seen this on ASROCK boards though, wish they would do that, might save someone a headache.
Great board in my opinion on sale now at the egg for $59 after rebate. A real steal smile.gif

I tried flashing the BIOS to version 11.0 from 10.6. Now the computer is on an infinite loop. It wont post. It will just turn the fans on for 10 seconds and then shut down. After 5 seconds it will restart and then shut down again after 10 seconds. I don't know what to do. Please help!!!! frown.gif

Anybody ran Ivy Bridge in one of these yet?
The lastest BIOS supports Ivy Bridge.
