I got the G.Skill memory, same specs as the ones you linked, except I got 2 4G sticks. I think those are appropriate.

Hey y'all,
If you have a chance, please post your OC results to the Sandy Bridge OC spreadsheet at the top of the forum... It will help other users understand the capabilities of the board with the various processors. Right now as a new overclocker looking to decide on a board, it would seem from that spreadsheet that Asus is clearly preferred by a majority of users, but I think MSI is right there with them...

well, i've got my system up and running now with the msi p67a-gd65. this board is actually much easier to work with than the asus p8p67 -m pro though i can't get my gskill f3-17000cl9d-8gbxld running at 2133 as of yet. msi has no advice for me as they can't get hold of this particular memory set. anyone who's been successful at these speeds got any advice?

Also quick question on the MoBo power chord extension. Where did you get them?

http://www.frozencpu.com/brands/bran.../ModRight.html

There are some, ModRight.

My motherboard just arrived, I need to order memory though. I'm stumped as to what I should get. I've read the QVL and didn't like any of them. Since all I will do on this computer is play games, and overclock wouldn't
either of these work well and be fast for what I'm doing and not cuase any problems?

If your Talking about motherboard screws, don't they normaly come with whatever case you bought? At least, I've never received motherboard screws with any motherboard I have bought.

Is that stable? 5.4Ghz is a pretty big overclock even for Sandy Bridge, not to mention on air. ?

I'd like to see your friend's settings in his BIOS, as the highest I've been able to get is 5.1Ghz stable, but that's pushing 1.57vcore.
