Yes, the stocking fee has been waived. It's always best to call & talk to a live representive before you return to NewEgg instead of setting up the return online.

This my review and OC guide. The only voltage that needs changing for CPU overclocking on SB is the vcore, so it's easier than older CPU's.
I see... What's ur vcore now? Heard that the highest vcore for SBs are 1.52v, that correct?

Yes, according to Intel, 1.52V is the max. I'm at 4.8 GHz with 1.4V, I just forgot to remove the text after I changed the pic.

I'm wondering why you want to upgrade, isn't the Q9550 enough for a GTX 480?

i see.. Thanks for the infos.. +rep!

There're still some bottlenecks with my c2q... my fps will drop down to like 45 or 35 during major explosions in BC2.. and i'm only getting an average of 25fps in gta4, which everything is not even maxed... I saw a vid on youtube that someone's using a i7 or i5 920 at 4ghz, and his fps is almost double as mine... he's at 46fps or something...

So I thought if i can sell my mobo, cpu, ram, then I'll grab a Sb for sure... at least the price/performance ratio is higher... and make my $$ worth it...

PS - I just bought my q9550 three months ago for 279... ram for 80... and mobo for 140, around 2 months ago... total = ~500 Guessed I made a rly bad mistake... I should've done some research before I buy it... could've got something much better with that $500

Now I HATE MY RIG!!!

Your rig is fine, just overclock that graphics card and you really will be gliding through games.

Three months ago my friend bought an i7-950 for $220, a Gigabyte X58 UD3 board and 6gb of ram for way less than what you spent. Granted, that's here in Southern California.

Must suck. I came from a C2D that I know bottlenecked my rig and I must say that this i5 is awesome. I'm benching right now to write a small article about how much C2D's bottleneck modern GPU's and I'm seeing 100%+ performance increases in certain games. At 1920x1200...

He only mentioned CPU heavy games. He's right, that is a CPU bottleneck.

Yeah, I came from a qx9650 at 3.6 (old motherboard) and I am seeing huge improvements in CPU heavy games such as Black Ops. That game is so messed up. Its just so damn fun to play! It uses my GPU like 60-70%. Pretty bad.
