I assume it is up to date as I have it installed via Steam, but it does say 1.1.something instead of 1.2.1 on the exe, so I have no idea.

That is interesting. Are you able to run an integrity test using steam? I know that you can have it check for corrupt files.

I'm not sure if it works for non Valve games.

From my experience, Crysis does have weird quirks and sometimes causes crashes and lockups. I've had 2 different computers and 4 different operating system (XP, Vista 32, Vista 64, and now Win 7 64) that have all had crysis installed and running on them. I just think Crysis can be buggy sometimes. Also, if folding is kicking in while playing Crysis, the initial startup could be causing your issues.

Try to find out if the game is patched to the latest version. Also, just make sure to save often I wouldn't be too concerned.

I'll probably try to update it even though it's installed via Steam, see if it works. Thanks for the help all.

Your chip is NOT supposed to go over 1.55v on the core voltage. Anything over such is not a good idea... Pumping that many volts into a CPU can't be very healthy for it's lifespan... >.> I wouldn't go over 1.45v on my 940 any day.

Personally I found Crysis Very stable under XP and then Win7. Never stuck with Vista that POS for long so cant say.

Lets be logical about this

jonjryjo

Quickest and most logical thing to do is reset your rig CPU/GPU back to stock, sounds like a bad overclock to me.

Outcomes
1. If Crysis is not stable you have some sort of software issue.
2. If Crysis is stable you had a marginal overclock. Go back and OC again.

Problem isolated. You need to know if you are in a software issue ballpark or hardware, otherwise you are stabbing blindly in the dark.

I had the same issue with crysis and i solve but i don't remember what i did in the moment, i recently reinstal win 7 64bit (virus problem) i gonna install crysis and i send you the solution just give time, maybe tomorrow

What i remember is that's a problem with the 64 bits version tray to run the 32 bits version or if you can wait google "crysis black screen" i'm almost sure that is the 64bits version problem

That OC on GTX570 looks a but high. Also Metro might be demanding but it does not crash a unstable card like Crysis does. Put everything to stock and see if it still does it. A card or CPU can be stable for certain software all day but not for all.

I got it, you first need to apply 1.1, 1.2 and then 1.2.1 patches, then the crysis.exe in the folder bin64 need to be vista 64 compatibility and run as administrator, that's all my friend i hope this will be help for you
