1155 mobo & h70 issue?

Thread Starter
I'm attempting to install an h70 on the back of the Asus Pro 1155 motherboard (this guy: http://ncix.com/products/?sku=58016&...nufacture=ASUS )

I'm on step #1: Trying to attach the back-bracket behind the motherboard, however the adhesive pads don't seem to have a spot to stick on to. The metal on the back of the motherboard around where the CPU is comes around and doesn't let me stick the backing of the h70 evenly.

Anyone else install an h70 or h50 (or anything for that matter) on an Asus Pro 1155 motherboard yet? I'd really appreciate some help! I'm sitting here trying to figure this out.

I wouldn't use the adhesive pads...
They are a SUPER PITA to unstick should you ever need to take your H70 out..

Aren't they required?

Lol I like that "PITA", never heard it before. I think I'll call my brother a Peta from now on.

Not that I know of. Ive used them one time, and about broke my buddies old motherboard when we installed his new motherboard. Those adhesive things really stick good.
Ive personally had two H50's, on 3 different boards and never used them once.
My current board included ....

Alright thanks. I'll try without the adhesive pads I think.

I don't understand though. An 1156 board has a rectangular/square metal backing. Mine has that too, but it goes a little further down where I'd normally want the adhesive pad on one side to rest.

I've had SOOOO many fitting issues with my 1155 board, graphics card, and Antec 900... they've been just 1cm issues, but it's still quite annoying.

I am in the middle of doing it myself and did not use adhesive pads, its fine without. I am searching to see how it clips on mounting circle bracket above, where to mount radiator/fans, etc. This is first water cooled system ive tried. Damn these parts are so easy to put together now a days. Well I havent fired it up yet so shouldn't say that haha. Frys had everything including the Thermaltake level 10GT which I almost bought on ibuypower but got better stuff and saved a grand diy. Looking for adapter to stick the fans radiator for corsair H70 in front bays. will replace the rear fan for now. dont worry bout the adhesive, tape in place temporary if needed.

I think the OP figured it out by now. This thread is 4 months old.
