to sum it up, I agree with mhaneline 100% the GTX360 is a better rad, theres no disputing that, but the cost is the requirement of higher pressure fans wich come at the expense of a louder system. I was given 2 GTX360s for free and i still opted to buy the RX360s souly because in order for the the GTX series to be beneficial i would have to use fans like the san aces or deltas again and they are just way to loud for me. The RX series rads are within .5c of the GTX and thats by using a 1800rpm 22db fan. and even if you bumped it up to 2800rpm fans the GTX only wins by 1c so yet again twice the sound and almost 1.5 times the price for a .5-1c decrease doesn't seem worth it.

There is no buzzing or whining like the sample in Martin's video has.

Either way, unless you're going for a completely silent build (sub 1450rpm), the GTX360 is a better rad. I don't say that lightly either, I loved my RX360s.
If that ones broken then this one must be also

I live in malaysia and they're sold all over here. I literally walked in to the IT hypermart here and picked up 9 of them. I had to go to another store to get the other 3.

As far as fan controllers go.. you're going to want to connect multiple fans to each channel of the fan controller, so each knob/channel is controlling multiple fans. Otherwise, you would have 3 or 4 fan controllers. As for a specific model, I really like the sunbeam rheobus extreme. Can't say enough good things about it. It'll give you 6 channels which is plenty for what you're doing.

You do realize 60dB is the the volume a Delta at 3800RPM makes, right? I mean, that is super loud. My fans don't make anywhere near that kind of noise.

I can't really comment on the audio in the video, other than they do sound the same and they do both have the same buzzing/whining sound which none of my 12 make. It could be that the microphone is right up on it. It could be that the unique pairing of that particular swiftech rad (very open fin density) combined with the san ace fan creates the sound. I really don't have the answer.

What I do know is, the combination of a GTX rad with those specific san ace fans don't create the same buzzing/whining sound as is shown in the video.

I never said i never owned any as i have 4 109R1212M101's which is like the same fans in a box next to me right now and i know factually if i was to put them on my rad right now and ran them at 6v it will be 50db as these were the fans i ran on my GTX360 (before i sold it) on my watercooled opteron rendering machine.

You may be just used to the sound but they are not as quiet as you are making them out to be, if they were no one would bother using low speed fans.

Is your rads internal or external? you might be getting deadening from your case canceling out some of the whine/buzz if they are internal, i ran mine external and after a year i just couldn't take it and i had to leave my pc on over night more and more for rendering.

That vid also is at 1 foot away i believe, there are 4 vids of em all different fans that have the same exact results.

109R1212M102 are not "nearly the same fan". They have different bearings, a different motor, and run at under 2000rpm.

Thread Starter
Just ordered the case and apparently it comes with places for quad rads. I deiced I want to go with a quieter build so I think i am gonna go with 1 rx480 and 1 rx360 or should I just go with 2 480s? What fans would go great with those rads? Thanks again for your help!!!!!
