Already have a 5830 but now i have an extra $300

Where in my system would $300 dollars shine most?

I don't want Crossfire because my board only does x16/x4 and i'm trying to avoid a new motherboard. Any suggestions?

I've been blowing off my Calculus for hours looking for some good price vs performance stuff

Current Specs:
mobo: MSi 870-g45
cpu: Phenom II x3 @3.7GHz w/ Arc Cool Freezer Pro 7
gpu: Gigabyte Radeon HD5830 (oc'd but i dont remember what to)
ram: 2x2gb DDR3 1333 Crucial Ballistix Tracer
HDDs: 500GB Samsung Spinpoint 7200RPM & 1TB WD Caviar Green 5400RPM
case: Thermaltake v9 Blacx (love it. not getting rid of it for awhile [: )
PSU: hec X-Power Pro 650W

I would wait for Bulldozer and then upgrade your mobo/cpu.

Let's see...Bulldozer is coming in around 5 months or so I reckon, so you probably wouldn't want to upgrade your CPU or MB right now, given that they are still pretty solid.

Perhaps a new CPU cooler? the AC Freezer Pro 64 isn't really good, and $60+ can get you something like the ThermalTake Frio, Megahalems, Venomous X etc etc...

I don't know about your PSU either...not sure if you want to change that out either.

An SSD is always a great upgrade. Perhaps a 40GB SSD as an OS drive?

Another 5830 perhaps.
But more than that saving up for bulldozer.

SSD and CPU cooler are always good upgrades.

I would put it towards a better PSU and a SSD, save what ever is left for Bulldozer.

Bulldozer looks promising but by the time that comes out, i'll have wasted my money on pointless little things. This sounds dumb but i kind need it off my hands and into my pc or it'll never get in there.

My AC CPU cooler does pretty dang well i might add. always below 30C and peeks its head above when playing SC2. i have a nice setup in my case that has cool air coming in from the front in blowing right into the cooler and being sucked out the back. like a suck/push/pull setup

SSDs... sigh. so pricey. yet so, beautiful. i would love to get that huge performance increase in win7 and games. but i kinda want to hold off on these puppies until the prices settle in a bit more. when that comes, i'll be looking at 200GB+

oh and like i said, my board only does x16 and x4 crossfire so that would be a big waste of money. i'd love another gpu but i see no big reason to upgrade atm.

aaaaaand yeah. i appreciate all of your replies. seriously. i'm pretty sure we've all been in this situation so i guess i'll be locking it into some ridiculous box that wont open for 5 months? rofl.

hmmm... this was floating around in my head for a bit. it requires a 500W psu and mine is a 650W. i know that sounds well beyond obvious but i'm not sure if i should go ahead with a card like this unless i have at least a 750W or 800W psu. i guess i could run into heat problems if it can't supply enough power. they have those nifty PSUs that sit in a 5.25 bay and power gpus. they have one for like $30 on the egg atm. crazy good price. i might consider this.

btw, 5830 vs 6950... obviously better but is it worth $300?
