Uh, no, nubcake. Nothing of the like has been mentioned anywhere. Don't assume.

I understand i can't give away the PC version, but what's stopping me from selling my PC version? All it is is a disk.

Probably an Activation code that comes with the disc. You probably have to install part of the game on the Ps3, activate it, link your Steam account, then activate Portal 2 on the PC end.

Make no mistake, they will try to DRM this. No wya in hell they'll risk selling 2 copies of the game for the price of one if there's going to be a ton of people trying to pirate it.

Maybe, what we're looking at is a prototype for the online component in future PlayStation products. I think it would be awesome if you could tie your PSN account to your Steam account (Steam adds your PS3 Trophies and other stats into your Steam profile and vice versa) and then begin using that with the PS4 (hypothetical remember ).
If Sony and Valve worked together on the PSN side of things for future implementation I'm sure they could quite easily topple Live.

Don't see why this wouldn't work. Unless Steam brings similar DRM along to the PS3 with it and possibly registers the games ID to your PSN account rendering it useless for re-sale.
I sure hope so.

So whats to stop people from renting the game just to get it for the pc? I have no plans to purchase any games for the ps3 this year but already plan on buying Portal 2 for the PC, I should be able to save $50+ if I just rent it on release day, no?

Edit: Scratch that question, guessing there will be a code on the booklet or in the case to tie the two to prevent the above.

Pretty sure it won't matter which version of the game you buy, PC or PS3, it'll work on both platforms. That said, they'll probably both be $50. (Or cheaper if Portal 2 is as short as the first game)

This is great though, your game saves are now cross-platform. If I had a PS3, I could go through Portal 2 on my gaming rig, then my MacBook Pro and then in my living room. Neat.

And to the people saying the graphics will be "dumbed down" this is nonsense. Graphics do not affect gameplay, if I turn down the settings in a game on PC to the absolute lowest and play with someone on multiplayer, it makes no difference. (Maybe I can't see as clearly, but that's it)

Now, the graphics won't be fantastic but that has nothing to do with consoles. Valve is just happy with the Source engine. And Valve's games are focused more on gameplay than visuals anyway.
