GPU needed for HDTV

Thread Starter
Hey guys! I'm deciding on buying a new GPU to make decent resolution on my 32" 1080p Toshiba, or setting it off on a stand as a TV and reverting to my 19" LCD for the rig..

I still have the EVGA 9800GTX+ (or whatever it is after the naming switch..) from the old build, however it only has two DVI ports, and if I convert that to the standard 15-pin vga that the TV accepts, my max resolution is 1360 x 768. Which isn't quite the 1920x1080 I was hoping for.

So while I'm not really bothered by the performance, I was thinking to upgrade to something with an HDMI out..

So, OCN gods, what say ye? What is a good card to suit my needs at a fair price?

Your 9800GTX+ should be enough to power your 32" 1080p

All you need is something like this and you should be fine..

Don't buy this on newegg, which they're expenive...

Eb@y is cheaper

lol i have a old 8400 in my media centre....

it runs 1080p fine....

2d doesn't need much graphical power....

just look for a card with HDMI and you are set

Edit: soz i thought that you meant for a media centre when you stated TV.....

I would just get a DVI to HDMI adapter... they work great

Its overkill for HTPC.

Anyway your card that you are using is more than enough for 32 inch HD. Just look for newer HDMI 1.2, you are good to go.
