[1C/Ubi] IL-2 Sturmovik: Cliffs of Dover Announced [UPDATE: Released in The USA!] - Page 7

Does anyone know of a joystick that is cheap and has trim wheels? I don't need anything fancy. For reference, I think the logitech Wingman joysticks are just fine. Just wish there was trim.

Suggestions appreciated.

Saitek X-52 must be cheap these days. It comes with a throttle and trim if you map it and I'd say it's the interim one before the jump to the Couger, and new logitech one etc

I would also vote for the X-52, but almost every joystick has or will have issues so be sure to read reviews first.

The X52 looks great but probably costs a little more than I want to spend.

Do you guys know anything about these joysticks?

Thrustmaster T-Flight Hotas X Flight Stick

It seems to have a little slider on the throttle slider that could probably be programmed to do elevator trim?

Saitek PS38 Cyborg X Stick
This one has dual throttle sliders, and one of them could be repurposed to elevator trim according to the description.

Any other recommendations in the $40 range would also be good.
Thanks!

I havent heard good things about the cyborg, on the other hand, I 've heard good things about the Thrustmaster. The cheaper Saitek sticks seem to break within days from what I have read. You should also consider the Thrustmaster T-16000M but it does not come with a separate throttle.

Maybe things have changed but I still have a Saitek Cyborg Gold that has been through 8 years of use and still works good. It's Logitech you want to watch out for. Actually, I think I have a Saitek Cyborg Force and some CH rudder pedals I may put up for sale in the for sale forum. I'll post here if I do.

That is from the russian videogame trade show Igromir, there's a ton of those out there, looks great huh? The only reason that is a slideshow is because the show provided PCs with 2 gigs of RAM instead of the minimum 3 gigs. The game map is a full 1:1 scale of england and france, so it takes a lot of RAM to load it. Those machines were i5, GTX 460 2 gig machines, the developer said if they had had 3 or 4 gigs then the game would have run fine at those settings, and a month after that show the developer said they had completed a major round of optimizations that increased frame rates dramatically. Not only will this game look great, it will run well on mid level machines. I can't wait.
