How Do I Force 16-Bit Color Depth?? HELP!!!

I got XP Pro SP3. I installed a program called TopDesk. Whenever I open it, my computer defaults from 16 bit color depth to 8 bit. BTW, I updated my video drivers. How do I force my computer to accept 16 bit color depth when I open up this program?

What kind of gpu do you have? As i am wondering why you just can't set it to 16bit under display properties in windows.

It seems to be something to do with the program itself. Another user of the program, from this thread is having the same problem as you. Contact TopDesk and ask for a debug version to see if this solves the issue. Otherwise, contact their support directly.

right click on exe file - > properties. Try looking into tabs, maybe something set wrong in there and it's forcing those colors? Like "run in 256 colors" or low res.

Yeah, in Win 7, there should be an option of what color depth the program should run upon startup--just check a different depth and see if that forces it back.
