My Computer Will Be Tested Today.

Thread Starter
I want to make my accounts more secure, not from a online invasion or from hackers, just from people logging onto my computer physically.

I have locked the accounts using caps nums etc etc, but I want to make sure there is no way someone can log on to my accounts without extensive knowledge on Windows 7, and bypasses.

So care to share a few tips on securing accounts?

Someone told me that if you put the computer into "Safe Mode" You can log onto it on Windows 7, is this true or just some BS?

Thanks.

Blank keyboard lol

And I haven't found any "backdoors" in 7 yet..

in XP i knew them all lol

I lied. I know one backdoor in 7, but it requires a window's 7 installation DVD

There is no guard against physical access other than encrypting all of your data.

When I was running windows vista, I had explorer.exe moved to a different folder, so it wouldn't run it on startup. I had to ctrl-alt-del then go to "run" and manually run explorer.exe before I could do anything. That kept my computer pretty secure at LAN parties and such.

Go into your BIOS and set up a password, also change the boot order to some random drive that you don't use to the first boot.

When I leave for extended periods I lock my PC with a CAC card. Kind of a PINA to fish into your wallet to log in everytime though..
