yes. very much so. not as bad as a typewriter, but much louder than a non-mech keyboard. I have seen some people claiming they are not that loud, but I have not had that experience. It may depend on the manufacturer and model to some degree, but my experience has been they are all loud... (by loud I mean louder than a non-mech counterpart)
I hammer on the keys as well, so that doesn't help on mech keyboards for sound.
Hmm i was thinking about getting the Razor Blackwidow Ultimate but my office is connected to my bedroom and my GF might not like the additional noise....
get cherry browns, save a relationship. If your even worried about the noise that means you have an inkling that she would be able to hear the clicks. It's not the one click that makes a difference, it's the successive typing that can and will get annoying.
well after receiving my razer black widow. i noticed that typing on it is quite louder but i honestly dont mind the extra noise. i had the lycosa and it was quiet.
If you have something with Buckling springs, they will be really loud. Like typewriter loud. Otherwise they are not that bad. Cherry switches (depending on the type of Cherry) are generally good for noise level.
Is it bad if I started all the clips at once and just enjoyed the sound?
Lol. I was busting up when I heard the first sound clip. Love the noise.
