Just remember DC Universe just got released and new released games are bound to have bugs and there will be patches later so it's just not only you. I am sure other people have problems. I don't even play it anyhow.

Yeah, this is by far one of the worst releases of a game. Nvidia did release a new driver TODAY so I loaded it and played for about 15 minutes, no crashing on normal yet, but we'll see how it is with prolonged play....and an overclock. lol.

Your PII X4 945 isn't a bad chip by any means. Most people just opt for the slightly faster X4 955 with the unlocked multiplier or a Thuban with more cores. Without an unlocked multiplier, it takes a bit more work to overclock, but it isn't too bad. Plenty of i5/i7/1055T can attest to that. I've never had a chip with an unlocked multiplier anyway. It should OC not too far off from what a 955 (C2) would get, I'm assuming. Also, no Denebs have more than 4 cores, so don't worry about that.

Last night I was able to get my chip to 3.69. So I think I can probably squeeze out a little more, but it would be easier if I had a better cooler. I'm not using the factory one so thats good. Kinda lost on the voltage thing.

Voltage helps keep your OC stable and allows you to achieve higher OCs. So if you wanted to hit 4.0 Ghz you could, but might need to supply a bit more voltage. But 3.69 on stock voltage is good I'd say, I have to give my unlocked x2 560 BE extra voltage to keep stable at just 3.6Ghz.

See thats what I don't understand. If I increase the voltage wont it increase the heat this rendering it unstable? I would need a better heatsink for that and probably another case fan (which probably wont do that much, I already have 3 in there)

Yea, that's why you have that CNPS 10x Performa, to keep temperatures in check. However, you don't want to just randomly increase your voltage. Only do so if you find instabilities. And even then, only increase one notch at a time. Are you running stress tests between each mhz bump?

Also, your Phenon II 945 was the AM3 version of the 940 (which was AM2+ and a Black Edition). Similar to how the 925 was the AM3 version of the 920.

I did not know this. Interesting facts. Thanks. And I wouldn't randomly bump up the voltage. I actuall lowered the voltage on my CPU (if I remember correctly) from 1.5 to 1.375. I ran it through the stress test for a couple hours through Prime 95. Played videogames on it for a few hours. So for no instability. If I could only lower some other things. Which I don't think I can do.
