would lapping affect clip pressure??

hey im thinking about lapping my x2 560 that i unlocked. it seems to be doing great clockwise under the 1283. I wish to lap this processor for my claim of a few degrees since everyones against lapping the thin heatpipes on the xigmatek. Problem is i am using the amd clip. I lost these intel mounting leg bracket things. http://i54.tinypic.com/2dh88xj.jpg

So i was wondering, how much will i be lapping away and will that affect the pressure of the heatsink and clip?

No it won't. You are not removing that much material. I lapped my s1283 without incident.

No you will be okay. I lapped my E5200 last year and it dropped load and idle temps a little over 10c. Totally worth the time involved. Remember though its not how shiny or polished you get it, it's about true flatness that gets the best results
