A lot of people seem to prefer ASUS so I thought I'd give a heads-up on these. 95 of them in stock last I checked.

With the announced 1gb version being set at 279.99 i don't think many people will be buying these for now.

2gb will give more fps when playing 2560x1600 or using multiple screens.
Benchmarks show that 2GB is only marginally better than 1GB even at 2560x1600.

The 5870 1GB for example, between 1024x768 to 2560x1600 the difference is only 6% relative to the 6970 2GB. (92% vs 86% of the 6970's power)

Thus, graphics cards or games still can't use all 2GB of VRAM yet...

The 5970 is actually 1GB x2. Both set's of RAM load the same data as if having 2 1GB cards in crossfire. It is, in essence a 1GB card as well. There are certain games that load a lot of data at higher resolutions which is why for my planned eyefinity setup I am dumping the 5970 for 2 6950's. Larger frame buffer does help eyefinity setups. This is also the reasoning for the 2GB eyfinity 6 5870 and XFX limited 4GB 5970 card which is really 2GB per core.

Can someone direct me to where you can see the inventory quantities on their website? The OP notes there were 95 in stock when he checked; where did he check that?

I'm sorry, I mean 6970, not 5970.

Enter quantity 999,then click add to cart,it will auto adjust to maximum quantity available ,unless the item has a limit per person,in which case this method will not work.
