High Load Temps

Thread Starter
I just built my Sandy Bridge (i5 2500k) computer, and I've been testing it with Prime95.
I seem to have really high load temps at stock clock:

Core 1: 55
Core 2: 57
Core 3: 58
Core 4: 55

My heatsink is a DeepCool Ice Blade Pro (I got it for $25). I used the supplied TIM.

Maybe I should reseat it using AS5? Or maybe run the fan at max speed, since the fan is really quiet right now. I'm worried that the temps are too high, and I don't think I can overclock until I get this sorted out.

i would try to get some MX-3 as it doesn't have a cure time like AS5. also turn the fan up.

Alright, thanks.

Which is the best way to apply TIM to direct touch heatpipe heatsinks?

Most methods I have searched recommends the line method down the heatpipes.
I've tried this, but it's really hard to do.
