WEI is NOT an accurate way on determining performance.... you might need to update your DirectX drivers however...

There is nothing wrong with them, WEI is garbage.

With the 5xxx series cards and 6xxx cards you should ALWAYS update to the newest drivers, unless they cause problems.

And a low WEI score is not a problem...again, it can be changed with a reg edit or a .ini file edit.

DirectX is part of Windows. Since Vista there's nothing you can do about it being updated.

WEI is utter garbage. that is all I'm going to say.

with that said, the drivers do affect WEI in many ways so whether or not you update windows is not important.

As long as you're performance is not affected WEI is just another useless number.

Try uninstalling and reinstalling the 10.12 mobo and gpu drivers, then redo DirectX.

I've seen this happen before... and now ! lol.. my GTX 280 gets a 7.3 .. same as my HD 5750 ahahh.. kungfu.gif

ATI drivers are giving me such hard times. When I updated from 10.10 to 10.12 I had just overinstalled like i used to do with nvidia drivers. But then i noticed that inside the ati control panel, the driver version was still showing 10.10. So i uninstalled it, went to safe mode and removed the traces and restarted and installed the damn thing again. After a restart, to my surprise, ATI install manager had installed everything (the new control panel, those codec things etc ) but the bloody driver. So I used device manager to search for the driver from within the ATI folder and voila, the job was finally done. I dont have the energy to update drivers anymore.

That's just a error with the new drivers, heard it was a bug that was going around. You actually have the 10.12's installed, but it still shows up as 10.10...

Thanks.

Heard this error was happening to a bunch of people, so it's nice to help, keep ya from wasting time trying to "reinstall" something that's already there.

And the new 11.1 drivers should be out soon, so it's kind of pointless to update them now.

I had the same problem. WEI was 7.8 then dropped to 6.6 after updating ATI drivers to 10.12. I was skeptical about WEI, so I ran Passmark Performance Test 7 and went from 3200 3D mark to a 1400 with the new drivers.
Now I know someone is going to come on here and say PT 7 is garbage too. That does not matter. I am using the same bench mark software on the same settings. I can run it 20 times in a row and get the same results everytime.
I switched back to 10.10 and my WEI went back to 7.8 and my 3D Mark came back up to 3200.
So I am not convinced it's just WEI sucks and u can't trust it. If my game performance drops and my 3D mark drops by 60% too.
