i7-2500 vs 2500k

Thread Starter
sorry guys, yet another "dumb" question from Jakegday. i just wanna make sure i have ALL the input i can get before i place my order...

if i plan on doing NO overclocking, and not using onboard graphics, will i notice ANY difference between these 2 processors?

edit: let me rephrase that... will there BE any difference between these 2 processors?

Nope.

No, but if you ever plan to sell your processor selling the i5 2500 will be much harder to sell than the i5 2500k.

I never *planned* on overclocking when I bought my last system. I never *planned* on selling it later. But both things happened. smile.gif

Only difference is the "K" has the unlocked multi, which is useless if you don't plan on overclocking. Personally, I'd just get the 2500K to play it safe.

No but I didn't plan on OCing either, it is worth it just to get the k edition.
