i3 550 overclock

Hey everyone, I need some help ovcing my i3 550 it wont seem to go above 3.8 ghz @ 1.26v and is not even stable have tried all kinds of bus speeds and voltages i am just stuck i am trying to get this baby up to 4.0 could anybody give some advice?

Try 1.3V for the core and 1.27 for the uncore. Keep the multi @24 and see how high you can get the BCLK

And yes you have to disable all of the power saving features.

Worked, got it up to 160 X 24 3.8 ghz still have to test it to be stable but so far so good tried 5 min of css its good. I might wanna try and get it up to 4.0 ty again tho

Nice the i3's are almost guaranteed 4GHz+ while remaining relatively cool. Keep playing with it and keep an eye on your temps. Your RAM timings and frequency also play an important role in your OC.

You could give it a shot but I would not go over 1.35V. You are also going to have to lower your RAMs multi to keep it within reason or BSOD!! I was able to hit 4.1GHz with 1.27/1.225 [172x24] Each chip is different though. you are just going to have to experiment and always keep an eye on your temps. Turning of HT will drastically reduce your load temp if it gets to high. But these i3's run so cool that you can get away with HT on
