Intel's max voltage's are for when chips are running Intel's speeds.

Intel's max voltage for this chip is 1.52v on their site.
Wait wait wait... you mean to tell me you paid $100 more for hyperthreading just to disable it?

So basically all you bought was a bit more L3 cache.

He paid $100 for a higher clocking i5-2500k with more L3.

Nothing wrong with how he spends his money, HT is a bad joke anyways.

ht is not a bad joke;i would even pay double the price of a 2500k, only to have this feature.

never understand 2600 k users who disable ht only to have an easier oc or lower temps.

also got one of these crap chips-who cares;if it dies it was for the science.

tried to get these setting prime blend stable too-failed after 30 minutes-max temp 91° celsius.try 1,65 v.

1.6v I think you should try lowering that to around 1.5 and see what you can get.

I get crazy over voltage warnings above 1.525v.
Good thing i can reach 5ghz with 1.45v but i did tried once to see how much voltage for 5.2 or 5.4ghz and above 1.580v i got a motherboard voltage warning. I know this is something that we can probably disable in the bios. The max i'll push this cpu would be 1.52v and thats with water cooling because i don't think anyone on air can push 1.52v and be in save temps.

ok,took about 6 hours of testing at these voltages.

1 hour prime 26,4 blend-,no other and ht on

used the asrock extreme 6 beta bios which was released for oc comunity, the normal versions allow up to 1,52 vcore,i guess.

v core in bios was 1,6 v-under load 1,624-1,64v

as we see, these 32 nm chips allow a lot,but we do not know were exactly the limit is..probably somewhere here:

Woah now what kind of cooling are you using with those voltages? Those are .10v over the Intel spec which everyone says is high already.
