The lag in KZ2 was "fixed". They updated it almost a month after it's released with an option to turn it on and off. It's not THAT much smoother, but smoother than what it was.

It wasn't lag. The guns had weight to them that the developers put it. The response time thus slowing down. And it was probably the best feature of KZ2, because - yep: you're not doing some stupid Halo super spins to cover your invincible bullet eating rear end.

It also made aiming require more precision as well, which isn't hard with a controller as so many PC butt munchers keep saying. Yes - we heard it once if not BILLIONS of times: the mouse is superior. Get over it, old news. We don't need to hear it every damn thread. Just because you can't accept playing with a controller and suck at it doesn't mean that other people don't enjoy it just as much and are good with it. It's borderline TROLLING at this point.

Last but not least - yes.
Sadly, Guerilla Games has removed the "lag". It's completely gone, and the response time of the controller matches and is sometimes even faster than Halo 3 and Reach (not because they're 360 games but because they're the only numbers I have off hand). Clearly no one has read anything about the game before ranting about the problems it may or may not have. There was a beta you know.

/rage

I hope GG put in a switch like in KZ2 to turn the weight on and off the guns. I really loved the weight and imo was the best thing about the game. No more death defying stunts in multiplayer.

KZ3 looks like its shaping up to be quite the game. it's matured quite a bit since 1.

UkThe "lag" was never "fixed". It was the weighty aiming for the most part, but Guerrilla did admit that there was unintentionally a very slight delay while aiming. The high precision aiming option did not "fix" this whatsoever. It did what it said and made the aiming more precise. To be honest, I preferred the option off and I thought aiming was better without it.

Try again. It's easy to snap-turn on a target. You won't be particularly accurate, you'll most likely be crouched, and you won't be moving that direction right away, but you can easily snap-turn to assess a threat. Peripheral vision also plays a huge part, something console games don't have period, and something even few PC games really do much of. The ability to assess a wider are for threats or entrances for potential threats eliminates much of the need for snap-aiming since you can already be aiming in the general vicinity before you truly see anything that needs shooting.

Narrow FOV plus slow movement does not make anything feel realistic. It makes you feel like you're driving a tank.

I kinda like the weight but sometimes I felt it was a bit too much, especially aiming at long distance. Lets see how they actually improve on it
post #25 of 30
the input lag sucked.
I borrowed the game from my cousin....5mins in I quit.
If KZ3 fixed that input lag, then it might just be a good game for me.
I cant remember any other games having the same problems as KZ2 with the input latency thing.
ARMAII I think has the same latency input if I remember, but you can turn it off completely.

No, the controller response rate was decreased (ie faster thus less lag) with the option turned on. Whether you felt it or not.

ok its not 5 mins, its just exaggerations. Who in their right mind judge a game after 5 mins lol
I played it for about an hour and got sick of the input. Damn thing gave me a headache, like literally a headache. Havent had one playing FPS since Medal of honor on the ps1

Oh my apologies then.

I just hate it when people pretend to try something and then backout. It's like pretending to nibble a tiny piece of food and saying you don't like it.

Controller lag was only part of the problem
the story being terrible, and boring gameplay was another.

boring story? I think that's the best part of KZ2. I wanted to see the commander get killed sooooo badly.
