Hmm that actually sounds pretty sweet, I might switch to offset voltage from fixed. Does it ever go above 1.42v like browsing and gaming? I'm kinda picky about putting too much volts through it, even under light load.

what are same temps for these chips. I remember on my c2d that stay bellow 60 was considered safe is it still the same. its crazy how much a .07 volts makes on temps at 1.092 or 1.096 i was doing 4GHz at 47c load. 10c extra from just that. Maybe i will pump my cpu fans to 30%. should add a little something.
In my opinion I wouldn't go over 75c. Technically you can go up to 90c+ before the CPU starts to throttle itself to avoid... dying. Crank CPU fan to 100% if you are gonna run prime95 it will reduce the thermal bottleneck on your OC. Everyday use will never hit prime95 temps for most people. I like to open my window when I stress test(it's -12 outside lol), lowers my temps by about 10c.
It's ok if your overclock is overheating the cpu a little bit, if you have winter where you live open the window and enjoy godly temps. Because once u know it's stable, everyday use is much lower temps
window closed(25c ambient): load 76c
window open(-12 outside): load 65c
gaming for 3 hours peak temp with window closed 25c ambient: 58c
Careful tho, if it's too cold and you leave window open for too long the pipes in your house might freeze and explode. Seen it happen at a party where some people hotboxed my buddy's basement washroom and forgot to close the window. Next day the whole basement was flooded. Thank satan for insurance.Edited by Scorpion667 - 1/30/11 at 2:40pm
