p.s if you guys upload acpitbls.rw here , i could insert slic 2.1 table on this new bios which means oem activation of win7 & vista with decent sp1... ; )
Thanks for the heads-up. I'm testing it now. I got it from namegt's site.

Note: no uEFI interface or profiles in 128.

128 update gave me more issues than anything. my voltage settings that worked on 126 didnt on these. loadline never worked for me either. im gonna go back to 126. it seemed more friendly to me.

So... I'm going to monitor my hard drive speeds with HDtune to keep an eye out for degradation due to the design flaw. I hope it only affects either sata 2 or sata 3, not both.

I guess we'll find out if Biostar's support is any good in a few months.

Hehe, we sure will.

As far as sata2 vs. sata3 read this: http://www.anandtech.com/show/4142/i...-begins-recall

Much less hysteria in that article than on the forums today. :-)

In the article it states that only SATA2 is affected so that's good news for me personally.

SATA3 port 0: SSD
SATA3 port 1: 1TB HD
SATA2 port 0: DVD-ROM

ARG!! - At least I'm aware of it now. This changes my plans a bit. Was going to put 4 MC Sandforce 64GB drives in the new i7 and move the two OCZ Vertex 64GB drives into the old i7. The Sandforce drives have the sleep bug, but I never put my machines to sleep/hibernate. Guess I'll put 2 sandforce in each and try to find a new home for the OCZ's. Sata3 ports will get the SSD's and the sata 2 port will get a BD-ROM. Will pull the internal 2TB drive out of the new i7 and put it on the old i7. Have a 2TB external eSATA/USB drive, guess I'll use the USB on the new i7 since the eSATA off the TP67XE is likely part of the SATA2 ports.

So if I use my sataII hard drive in the sataIII port will it use the sataIII controller? If so, I probably won't RMA it, i don't really care about running many drives.

FWIW, both my drives (SSD & 1TB HD) are working fine in the SATA3 ports. The SSD has been in the SATA3 since I built the machine.

FWIW I've had a 2TB Seagate 7200rpm drive and BD-ROM connected to the SATA2 ports on the TP67XE. I haven't had any issues thus far, but as I'm not looking to test my luck I'll be discontinuing use of those ports. I've got two usb external BD-ROM drives for just-in-case needs. Only paid for one of them, but Amazon shipped me a 2nd drive. Looks like extra one will become the optical drive for my new i7.

I might not even send it back to Biostar for the recall, I'm fine with only using 2 drives in the sata3 ports. Unless the process takes less than two days. External BD-ROM ftw!
