4 hour blend finished (@ the bottom of this post), this BIOS seems pretty stable

I only call it stable after I've used it for a couple of weeks without BSOD but IT SEEMS as though lowering CPU PLL from 1.7v to 1.6v allows me to lower vcore needed for 5ghz from 1.45v to 1.43v.

To be honest I don't trust prime95 blend anymore for this 2500k. I had completed a 5 hour blend test in late January and it gave me a BSOD while playing call of duty. Upping vcore fixed the problem entirely (a month + without BSOD, still counting). With that said, gaming is my weapon of choice for checking stability, believe it or not. Like I'll run an 8 hour blend no problem I just don't trust it as being stable with that alone. I don't really feel like running SP1 Linpack, sure degrading your hardware for epeen is fun and all, but one has to learn where to draw the line.

I know a guy who could only get 4.4 ghz on his 980x by lowering CPU PLL from stock 1.8v to 1.3v.

[edit] O I forgot to open up the motherboard tab for CPU-Z showing the bios version in my 4 hour run screenie, luckily I did screenie them at the 3 hour mark so I added that one as well.

OK, This BIOS B308 is the shiz. Thanks to NameGT @ XS for sharing it with us!

Finally 1 hour prime stable with my DDR3-1600 2x4GB kit running at DDR3-2133 !!!

Ambient was 22c so temps a little high.

The OC? Luck hehehe thanks =P my last 3 CPU's were terribad clockers. Probably just karma balancing it out

Luck! My 1600 CL9 won't even post at 2133, the BIOS actually resets itself to default settings everytime I try LOL- even with mad loose timings and 1.65v

I just happened to stumble across it one day, could of happened to any of us =P thank YOU for making this thread so we can all share our findings, if someone buys a TP67XE they might stumble on this thread and find this knowledgebase that everyone put together. It would be nice however to have a sort of FAQ in the original post just stuff like

-F126 + F121 BIOS - stuck in T1 command rate, T2 will not work.
-Both 8 pin CPU connectors do not have to be populated. That feature only for extreme overclocking (5.3+ Ghz) ex: LN2, Dry Ice runs
-D-14 cooler fits perfectly on this motherboard
-Does the board overclock well? We seem to have less problems than Asus and Gigabyte P67, the BIOS has been ironed out thus eliminating almost all BUGS (F308 BIOS thanks to NameGT)

Yea, no problems with 1.6v cpu pll at all. Only time will tell. Don't you get like 29k memory copy speed with 2133? That's insane fast lol. Nice OC as well.

A little luck and a lot of loose timings along with a better BIOS. I had to loosen the sub-timings as well:

DRAM Multiplier: 21.33
DRAM Timing Control: Manual
DRAM Command Rate: 1T
CAS Latency (tCL): 9
Row Precharge Time (tRP): 10
RAS to CAS Delay (tRCD): 11
RAS Active Time (tRAS): 27
Write Recovery Time (tWR): 14
Row Refresh Cycle Time (tRFC): 168
Write to Read Delay (tWTR): 8
Active to Active Delay (tRRD): 8
Read CAS Precharge (tRTP): 8
Four Active Window (tFAW): 32

So, the BIOS was reading the XMP profile for the subtimings so I just increased most by two:

12/128/6/6/6/30 per XMP
14/168/8/8/8/32 per me. :-)

Going to see if I can drop tRFC back down a bit.

You're welcome. Now that I can call my machine stable*, I'll get down to business on organizing the first post and add the FAQ items you mentioned.

* After 8 weeks, the only thing I know is that there is no such thing as stable. :-) I'm so done with prime blend.

Yeah, the RAM bandwidth is pretty impressive at 2133, would be even more so if I was at 5.0GHz. Still not bad for 4.8. :-) Only knocked 5 seconds off my superpi 32M score tho. Clock speed is king.

What could potentially happen if I try 1.4v CPU PLL?

I don't wanna damage my chip, but at the same time wouldn't insufficient voltage just cause instability or is there some crazy kung fu business where the VCORE tries to overcompensate lack of enough PLL and cause damage?

CPU PLL at 1.45v will not post for me, had to reset BIOS.

1.5v CPU PLL did not show any advantages over 1.6v CPU PLL - did not allow me to lower vcore needed for stability. This might differ from chip to chip. Without much testing done, I can say that 1.55v to 1.5v CPU PLL does not seem to have a negative impact on stability.

I think I will stick with 1.6v CPU PLL.

I love this lower core voltage I can use now, a few more weeks till I can declare it 100% stable but so far 4 hours blend was no problem and about 5 hours of gaming no BSOD at 1.6v PLL + 1.43v core. Temps dropped about 3c @ load going from 1.45v to 1.43v core.

H67AR121 might be it. Be sure to get the latest version of Tseries BIOS update from Biostar's site first.
