Anyone with an Asus p8p67 Deluxe have any luck running ANY ram ?

Intro: I am about completely fed up with p67 and sandy bridge... 3-4 manufacturers who have created the most retarded slot layouts I have every seen on almost all of their motherboards... plus the fact that nothing works... I envy the few people that have managed to put their stuff together and just hit power... I have not been able to run anything close to a stable system yet.

I have been through two of these boards and neither of them will run stable in windows any piece or pieces of ddr3 ram I try...

I have been through 4 brands... two of which on the QVL list.. none have worked on either board.

Prime95 Blend will either report errors or literally the computer will just shut off and restart itself.

Wont work at stock cpu clocks or o/c... I have tried vccio and dram voltage... 1333-1866mhz... any adjusted almost every timing option available...

Makes no sense when I can run small ffts for 8+ hours and have a stable cpu but I cannot run 1066 ram to keep this OS running for more than 10 minutes with an application running.

Follow these steps to get it to work. Update bois to latest, the jump the jumper or pull the battery, once that is done team should work.
If you don't reset the bios you will have to keep posting twice.

If you are running the 2600k at 4.8 @ 1.37v that may be part of your problem with stability.

Read through the following guide:
http://www.hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=1578110

I was able to get my own build rather stable following the recommendations there. Currently running 4.7ghz @ 1.425v

Yea did that when I first upgraded, plus the deluxe is just the button on the back instead of the jumper... Might not hurt just to reset it one more time and reflash

I ran 10 hours of small FFT and it didnt miss a beat... Is vcore going to affect ram stability on these things ?

EDIT: I gave that guide a quick read... I will be using that as a basis to start from scratch and see if maybe I can use more voltage at load and keep my temps down... this ven-x barely cuts it.

You can dial in the voltage for the ram directly, which helps with stability greatly, as the boards currently don't seem to get the rams voltage quite right at all.
VCCIO or what as known as QPI/VTT will give you your fine tuning to finish stabilizing your ram.
It will take a lot of trial and error to get it right as the architecture is so new. I'm still wrestling with getting it to resume from hibernation/sleep (S3) properly.

you were dead on with what you said. Plus that guide definitely found me some more vrm and overall stability with my board. I had been running extreme llc which has a reverse vdroop affect and made things very unpredictable.

I ended up needing 1.41 in bios which ends up with ~1.395-1.40v at load in cpu-z in order to pass 10+ hours of p95 blended.

Thanks again.

Thes boards/cpus are very strange in the sense that unless your 100% stable w/ core and ram, you can have instability show up in many different forms, but when you do get stable... they are rock solid. Not missing a beat over here.
