Abnormally high temps - Corsair H50? - Page 3

I think I am about at the end of my rope of suggestions, the tubes arent abnormally twisted are they? Try setting it up as an intake, pulling cold air from outside the case?

Alrite... I'm getting 33c idle now with a mobo temp of 30c...

I used two mid-RPM fans for the rad, and shifted the R4 fans to be case fans...

Are the temps still high? Considering ambient is ~22-25c?

Much much better, could go lower but better than it was. Three cheer's for whomever's idea that was. I would still recommend trying an intake setup just to see which works out better.

Glad I could have helped. I knew that those R4's were a bit aggressive in speed and a bit low on static pressure.

33*c is much better considering 22-25*c ambient.

My i7 idles at 28*c average BUT my ambient is about 18*c lol.

Now the real question is what are you absolute load temps? Using either Prime95 or IBT 5 runs.

28c for a 4GHz i7... Wow...

BTW, temps have come down to about 30-32... Ambient has come down too though...

Load was about 48-50c, which was ALOT better... BTW, I have some good news to bear, I OC'ed to 4GHz (luckily I have the C3 revision of the 965) and so idle is 32-34c and 100% load on Prime95 is 58-59, but no higher ATM...

Haha yeah my temps are 28 27 31 25 and load it's literally 65 65 65 61. That last core is always nice and cool despite my attemps to reseat. And core 2 (which is core 3 lol) is always hotter at idle.

Do keep in mind that the paste that you used (AS5) has a working cure time of around 200 hours. So your temps will continue to drop with more and more use.

Glad you figured out the problem!

Lol... "Cooler at idle"... That's odd...

Yeah, I heard that there was a curing time for it... Just didn't know how long...

Once again... THANK YOU SOOO MUCH!! xD

Ain't that odd?
hmm, if its PWR fan, its designed for specific power supplies to be plugged in...
so in idle conditions, the fan on the power supply would not spin..

if thats the case, that explains it.
