Sound advice (thank you ), but since the Zeus won't see any action for several months I will take advantage of the down-time to sleeve the cables.

I'm running the Folding@Home SMP client on the cpu and the GPU client on the 9600 so both are running at 100% 24/7.

If it's an original EA430 that could be the problem. You've got 4 HDD's as well which can easily suck upwards of 20+ watts on start up. So you may wish to look into your motherboard to see if it offers staggered spin up for your HDD's, that way it waits for one HDD to spin up and settle at it's rotational speed before starting the others when you first boot.
Yes, as I stated in my first post (highlighted in red above) it is one of the original EarthWatts 430's.

After redoing the OC a bit it seems to be running fine at 3.3GHz and the 9600GSO OC'd to 1782 Shader Pixel's from the stock 1350. Ran overnight without rebooting, crashing, or any EUE's on the F@H WU's. I'll keep an eye on it, but I think it will be okay now.

I'll look into the staggered drive spin up option in the bios. I know I've seen it in other bios, but not sure if it's in this one or not. It is something to look into though. I've never used it in the past as to me if that is necessary the PSU is probably being pushed to hard to begin with so a lower OC would be a better long term solution.

Thanks for chiming in though. Your opinion is always appreciated.

Ah; alright. I wasn't sure if you had plans to get the other GTX 580 soon or not.

Ah sorry about that; I missed it.

Though one thing to consider is that during start up of a PSU you'll always have a moment of peak draw when everything kicks on and it will suck down a lot of juice just for a second; then it'll settle down.

So sometimes it's not the stress on the PSU necessarily but instead a protection in place like OverCurrent Protection.

Usually you won't hit a Over Power Protection during startup because OPP is slow. OCP works in milliseconds though.

No biggie, it happens to all of at one time or another. I've done it myself, once.

True. I didn't consider that aspect. When I redid the OC I was able to go with less vcore (down from 1.5 to 1.425) which is probably helping and I set the PCI-E voltage in the bios to +0.1v. Normally this system is only shut down about once a month or so to clean out the dust and a possible reboot for Windows updates. Otherwise it runs 24/7.
