Default If You Dont Play Games On The Hardest Difficulty You Arent A Gamer - Page 4

Meh, I play most every game on normal difficulty the first time. I'm not playing to get anyone's approval or respect. Really, respect? Who cares?

Everyone says y'all in Texas. You will rarely hear "You guys" or "You all".

And yes, it's y'all.

thats pretty much how i play all my games. I want a challenge, its what i enjoy, wracking my brain trying to figure out how to do the impossible, regardless of how many times it takes me. While doing that i want a good story and gameplay.

I get bored with a game when it becomes easy. When i play a multiplayer game, i want to lose. I want to have to scrap and earn and use every ounce of my potential to win. If i dont, i still know that i did my best and that i made the other guy earn it. Gratz to him, but i will come back stronger and better the next time.

The difficulty has no effect on my enjoyment of the story line. In fact, it enhances it, because in most cases you are suppose to be overcoming impossible odds, which on your average difficulty isnt really true. I mean so many games stress how powerful the enemy is and how unstoppable they are, but it in general is just a piece of cake to do.

So your condition whereby a person is "respected" by you is based on one factor; that factor being:
Do you play games on hardcore/insane.

F-Me! I am glad that peeps like you don't respect peeps like me.

Y'see... you have ticked several of the factors in my own, personal, "Who shall be worthy of my respect" list; just with that one post!

You, Sir, are talented beyond my comprehension.

this is a funny post that has really gained a lot of attention quickly.

douchiest post ever. how about the only real challenge is man vs man. no matter how hard a game is, if it is single player it is a sequence of events created by some other guy. that person could have (and often they do) made the situations retardedly difficult simply just for lack of consideration.

in fact, in some games, the developers purposely create pointlessly hard modes.

and what the hell is with all the "ya'll"s?

your post is so opinionated and generalized that it is actually fair of me to respond with a comment like "all true gamers are intelligent nerds who harass people for thier grammer deficiencies."
ya'll come back na, ya hurr?

Game difficulties in current and ~5 year old FPS games are meaningless. All it does is make you die faster--game difficulties honestly have nothing to do with true difficulty of the game. They don't honestly force you to assume different strategies or think all that much more about a scene (except for a small handful of games) because so many points of combat are still scripted--you need to fulfill the same things like time to stay alive, number of enemy bots to kill, checkpoints reached, etc. By setting the highest difficulty setting, all you're going to do is die a few more times to complete the scene.

My god, the difficulty settings on BF2 singleplayer were artarded--On the hardest setting I'd honestly get shot and killed by an enemy bot with an ak47 from clear on the other side of the map where it was impossible to honestly hit someone from that far away.

I don't enjoy playing through games on the hardest setting and have to die over and over--I'd rather enjoy the game through. If I've already played through once or twice, I might go back and play a few levels on harder difficulty, or try some sort of alternate route/method of attack/strategy/etc., but if I keep dying over and over, I'm more likely to just stop playing.

Being a gamer doesn't mean having to play on hardcore all the time just to make a point. That sounds more like being a tool to me.

This appears as though you just admitted to being a noob ; I don't care how long it takes. Most of my games are multiplayer so I guess they are on hard mode automatically.
