drivers for Gigabyte GTX 470 SOC

Thread Starter
I have a Gigabyte gtx 470 super overclock edition video card. When I bought the card it came with a gigabyte overclock utility so that I could change the clock speed. This worked only with the driver that was boxed with the card.

I've since upgraded to the 260.99 driver and I can no longer use that utility that came with the card to overclock it. When I go to my nVidia control panel and go to system information it states that my clock speed is 700MHz which is the overclocked speed.

My question to you guys is what driver should I be using with this Gigabyte graphics card?

The only game I play is COD: BO and the game stutters slightly and I've tried almost everything but I'm starting to wonder if it's the drivers or mouse lag.

Regardless though, I'm confused at how to properly adjust this card and what drivers are the best for it. Any help is appreciated.

Hey, I have that card too. None of the new drivers let me adjust anything with oc guru, and I have pretty much given up on oc guru. I use msi afterburner now, and it is much more easy to use. I would try that and just give up on oc guru.

I actually have heard MSI afterburner is pretty good. Do you mind if I ask what OC settings you're using with MSI (did you just turn up the GPU core)? Also, what driver are you running?

One last question, do you play COD: BO? If so how does it run. Thanks.

My card is sort of a dud... it won't go higher than 800 on the core and for that I need 1.087 voltage. So instead, I run it at 785/1570/1850 @ 1.012 mV. I am using 265.90 quadro drivers but I will probably switch over to the new ones released yesterday. Sorry, but I don't play COD;BO, but I would imagine it runs pretty damn well on a powerful card like the 470.

Hope I helped

I play BO, runs flawless maxed out at 1920x1080.

Don't use OC Guru, just install Afterburner.

Could never get the Gigabyte OC Guru app to work on mine, even with the stock drivers that come with the card. Been using Afterburner since. No probs. Currently using official 266.58, and Afterburner v2.1.0 beta 6. Raised voltage to v1.00, allows me a stable 810MHz. No memory voltage control, so try not to go too high on the mem without flaking out.

I use Afterburner with my Gigabyte 5850. Never had problems.

Thanks, so you set your GPU @ 1.00v but what did you set your memory at? It looks like 875 from your screen shot, so I assume you set 875MHz in the MSI for the GPU memory?

Correct, Core voltage on exactly 1.00v for 810Mhz. Memory gets flaky around 900MHz (1800MHz) on mine, and card gets unstable, so i'm fine with 875Mhz (1750MHz).
