Intel CPU Core i7 2600K Sandy Bridge overclocking + ram

Thread Starter
Ok my old (3 months) i7950 is now on ebay ;-(

Sad times but i'm getting an 2600k sandy bridge tomorrow woop woop

I'm new to the forum and to over-clocking but i was wondering if anyone has a link or a guide to follow and a starting point for my over-clock.

I've read around the net for my i750, and just confused me self.

New main-board is Asus P8P67 Pro Intel P67 Express Socket 1155 Motherboard i think my other spec are at the bottom, I'm hoping this is a good enough board.

One final question is the main ram speed on the board says 2200 and my ram is then same, but i've no idea how to overclock the cpu which i think is like 1333 to match (or get closer) to the memory and mainboard speeds.

Any help would be great.

thanks in advance

edit*i know in my sys specs below memory say 2000, but i've checked and it def 2200mhz

Your memory speed works on multipliers just like your CPU and this is all based off of the BCLK(@100).

So for 2200 speed Ram you would run a RAM multi of 22x.

Edit: If your Ram is rated @2000Mhz no need to OC it just run it at 20x multi and make sure you set the voltage to 1.65. You can then run prime95 blend to ensure stability, you might end up having to raise your QPI(or whatever it is called on SB).
