[OCUK] Sandy Bridge Max Safe Voltages Revealed! - Page 3

yea this is 90% BS, wrong on ram voltage, wrong on CPu core voltage. sorry. I run extreme voltage of only 1.55v, others run 1.6v for the same amount of time(well a little less than me) I have had my stuff for a few months now. BUT what i got schooled on was from the mobo companies, they told me what was safe to run, and its really their chip and they told me they had been running it like that for months for testing, so run at 1.54v with llc level2. When I got the chip it needed a bit more, but tis still going strong. I know a guy who runs it 1.6v like i said, he runs it 24/7 for the past 2 months. I also push 107.5blck for fun and it didn't kill anything for my testing, just didn't improve much either.

I run RAm at 1.82v, i just got some dominator 2133ram and i will play with it soon, maybe i can OC it at stock with BLCK adjustment.

Do you suggest that a minimal bclk push (up to 105 I guess) is safe if pc is stable afterwards?

Wouldn't be the first time a die shrink was accompanied by a higher max VID. On the green side the 65nm Agenas were max 1.35v and were replaced by the 45nm Denebs with a max 1.5v. It's more than how many volts go in, it's how the chip distributes it.

While I don't think something as low as 1.380v is a max safe... I don't think all this 1.5-1.6v nonsense is either. Yeah you can tell me you've been running 1.5-1.6v since you got your chip, but it's only been less than two weeks. Come back and tell me the same thing in about 1-2 years and my mind will change.

Intel have ninja-edited their data sheets before.

Split the difference and use 1.45v. Personally, I stay under 1.40v except for a few HWBOT runs using 1.42v max.

True, except Sin has been testing his chip for months. He got a sample for testing quite some time ago.
