I should mention that I originally used a USB live version of Linux to test out the cpu/mobo, and the board was getting really hot, I think it even restarted from overheating. Not sure what was causing it to overheat in linux but since then I have been using a 120mm high cfm fan, just sitting ontop of the cpu/video heatsink.
WIll post pictures up soon. I used some wood and 8 standoffs to create a little test bench type setup.
I received the slim line sata cable that allows me to use my notebook blu ray drive to test on the mobo/cpu. Aswel as testing the blu-ray playback I also tested playback with 1080p.mkv files.
OS: WIndows XP Performance edition (stripped down to bare minimum)
Cpu: Intel Atom 330 + 120mm High CFM fan directly on top, sitting.
GFX: Nvidia 9400M, stock settings
Mobo: Asus AT3Iont-I Deluxe
Ram: 1x4gb DDR3 G.SKill Trident 1600mhz @ 1066mhz not sure on timings. (will try later to run it at 800)
BD Drive: HP CT10L
HDD: WD Recertified 740gb green with possible malfunctioning symptoms.
I used CoreAVC + WMPC for the 1080p streams, and this little system passed with flying colors.
-SIdeNote: Is there a way to show HD playback statistics, like a bench mark?
For the Blu-Ray playback, I used PowerDvd 10, and again this thing passed with flying colors. It seems like it takes a couple minutes to get into the Blu ray menu, wondering how this loading time can be reduced. Possible SSD will lower these times? I also hooked up the RF sensor and the remote was very responsive. SO far, very pleased with this purchase.
On a sidenote for the Brazos platform, A benchmark that has been done with a brazos test station shows the Atom330+Ion is on par with power consumption.http://techreport.com/articles.x/19981/5
Thats all for now!
