I have had my xbox for a couple years now. Enjoyed it a lot. My gf picked up a ps3 last week and I had a chance to really play on it.

Overall, I enjoy playing games on the xbox by far. The ps3 is nice for the blue ray but the most exclusives games people are into, I'm not a fan of... (GT5, Uncharted, etc)

The controller has not changed much since ps2, which is a bit sad. It's definitely lacking a nice grip & weight compared to the xbox controller.

I'd choose the xbox any day given the two choices.

Before I start saying what console I prefer and which one should be bought, let me say that:
I have a 360/PS3/PC/Wii and many handheld console.
I love them all, they all have their good game and thing that other don't have.

360
- People should really stop talking about the failure rate, that's not right anymore, this is the same thing with the seagate 7200.11, I product that as a high failure rate and put bad reputation. But new 360 like the 7200.12 are great product with low failure rate.
- 360 Have the multiplayer I've enjoy the must (on console, not including PC )
- The game attract me a lot less then they were at the start.

PS3
- Some good multiplayer game, but I don't like them like I do for PC and 360.
- Lot's of good singleplayer game.
- Blu-ray.
- Best multimedia console.
- The game that attract me the most.

The other
- No need to talk about them since that's not the topic of the subject.
- PC FTW!!!

My vote go to the PS3, for me it's the console that offer the most and have the best game.

Still much less when compared to the original xbox 360. His post stated "it does not carry that failure rate," which means that it breaks down a lot less. He didn't say it was immune. I have a PS3 Slim and Xbox 360 myself.

Xbox 360 for its exclusives and the online experience
PS3 for the bluray and its exclusives

I don't see how it fails "less" when evidence like youtube videos popped around just a matter of days around the release date. There was even a video of one failing during an electronic demonstration show. I own both as well.

I own both consoles, but I do use the 360 more for gaming. The PS3 is mainly used as a BluRay player.

I've actually owned 2 Xbox's, the first was the original model without HDMI, which sadly passed away about 6 months ago (Not due to RROD, but because I may have tinkered with it ) and this new "slim" Xbox is nice and quiet.

I also like the Xbox controller much better than the PlayStation's. Only gripe is the Xbox live fee's but IMO Xbox Live is a bit "higher quality" (less people on slower connections) than PSN.

I've had an xbox 360 since 2006. If I didn't have any current-gen systems and I was going to buy one at this point in time, it would have to be a PS3. Free online (even if it's not as good (and that's arguable)), blu-ray support and exclusive games that won't get ported to PC make it a no-brainer for me. Also IMO: Playstation's store has a way better selection of downloadable titles (Playstation and Playstation 2 titles).

Purely out of interest. Thanks all
i think that they are both the same. The PS3 does seem the better option at the moment due to the exclusives, blu-ray ect....
both good consoles though
