Quick help!

1.)I am meaning to buy the Alphacool Heatmaster ...it comes with 3
Thermosensors...my question what is the best way to apply them and where do I need to put them? I was thinking ..CPU,Case interior,GPU...but how do I apply them right?

Another thing is that I wanna controll my whole watercooling setup...so I will have to buy an extra Thermosensor that screws into my res to measure the water temps right?

In general just tell me what I need to buy extra for the heatmaster to be able to controll my WC setup perfectly and where and how to apply the other Thermosensors.

2.)I was meaning to get the D5 Vareo from Laing but it is just to pricey.
I was just informed that there are other manufacturers like Alphacool that sell the pump much cheaper....soo pl advise me ...is the D5 really the best pump in a 100€ price range? and is there any difference in performance between the different brands of the D5?

The only water cooling control you need is balls out, and off!

hehe, but if you do want to know temps putting an inline temp ring at the rad inlet is a good place, one at the outlet is another good place this combo helps determine delta and loop effectiveness, beyond that maybe a flow meter as well? Koolance makes a nice rig for that, and phobya and bitspower both have inline ring extremely low resistance thermal sensors for g1/4 fittings.

as far as the second question goes, any molex 12v reostat will do, which is all that stuff is, just puts a resistor in series with the load and that lowers amps/current/pump power... V=RxA, 12v=x(a), where x is the resistance, in this case variable, resulting in a lower current. You dont save anything on utilities...

1.)I thought I´d buy this for the Alphacool Heatmaster http://www.aquatuning.at/product_info.php/language/en/info/p808_Thermosensor-G1-4.html and place it in the resevoir (My Phobya Balancer 250) would that be a good place?Or does it have to be the rad inlet to perfectly determine the temp?.My loop is res-pump-rad-block-res...so the hottest point would be in the res that is why I thought putting the sensor there was the best idea.

2.)Is there anything else I need for the heatmaster...maybe a cable to connect with the mobo so I can use the software?
I do not want to monitor flowrate.
I know that I have to get an extra cable for my Alphacool VPP655 I am about to get to be controlled by the heatmaster.(I heard in another forum the the D5 is the best pump right now regardless from which manufacturer I get it.So I chose the Alphacool one cause it is cheaper.
But does it even make sense to have the pump controlled? Or should I just have it at 12 V all the time?Would that be too loud?

3.)You haven´t told me yet how to apply the heatsensors for CPU and GPU.

thats ment to be screwed into like a drain line or somthing i guess it would work in your res if the cable is long enugh to reach your board.

3.)You haven´t told me yet how to apply the heatsensors for CPU and GPU.

The hottest point would be the outlet from the pump, as it is drawing water from the res than heating it through the pump, before it goes to the rad. Normally figure 15-18watt added from a pump.

I kinda like these, but once the system hits equalibrium it does not really matter... (the point at which you add heat and take heat off equally at max gpu/cpu load).

http://www.aquatuning.us/product_info.php/info/p7367_Phobya-temperature-sensor-in---outer-thread-G1-4.html

The one you picked out is fine too.

I dont "think" you need all that much for the heatmaster device, temp monitoring is pretty straight forward circuitry.

I run a mcp355 and it is as quiet as a church mouse, installation makes for a lot of difference... if its all loose and sad, it will vibrate which will make noise... different pumps are good for different things, if you like the 655 just get that, not really sure if there is a better/badder/best, other than what works for you and your setup/price point.

"personally" pumps controllers are a waste of time, although they make filling the loop a little easier, cause you can run the pump slower... but I did that by wiring a resistor to a molex and when i was done, took it off and plugged it in straight... cost me about a buck... radio shack is handy for this... and fans normally come with tons of little molex connectors which may be sacrificed for such causes.

case sensors are nice to haves... cpu and gpu... why not just use core temp? if you want to display it on a lcd you need a programming card that can output to the display and read the temp just like your bios and core temp does... theres not a "good" way to put a thermostat on the cpu die without ****'n up the die/block. Some motherboards back in the day had leads that came off for outputs... I want to say that some xfire boards that come with little lcd's have this feature built in... check your mobo manual

Thx for the answers:)

1.)For running the pump the first time I will just use a 7 Volt adapter that way the pump will run slower:) And when it is all done and bled I will use 12 Volt:) I will choose the D5(Alphacool VP655) as it has one of the highest possible flowrates and therefore performs best^^For noise I will just put some soundreductive foam beneath the pump to prevent vibration:)
Edit:I just read that the Alphacool VPP655 runs at 5 different speeds
Stage 1: 1800 rpm/min
Stage 2: 2550 rpm/min
Stage 3: 3300 rpm/min
Stage 4: 4050 rpm/min
Stage 5: 4800 rpm/min
This can be altered manually at the pump ..so it does not require a resistor or fan controller:D

2.)Those 18 Watt from the pump will add max 1 or half degree into the water..so why is that the hottest point? I think the hottest point would be the resevoir in my case ...res-pump-rad-blocks-res....because the water dissipates the most heat from the blocks which hits the res first ...so wouldn´t it be best to put the heat sensor into the res?

3.)What I do not understand about the heatmaster is ..how it should be powerd and how the software reads all the data.
How is it connected to the MB?How can I control the pump, fan RPM , read sensors with the software? The heatmaster has a MB port....is that how it all works? It also has a USB Port,4 pin molex ,etc ...how is it powered ? I am very confused

4.)What do you think of these fans for my Phobya G Changer 1.2 Radiator?
http://www.aquatuning.at/product_info.php/language/en/info/p4693_Yate-Loon-D12SL-12-gr-ne-LEDs-4-Fach-Bundle--4xL-fterpaket-.html will they perform well? cause they are not so pricey and I have heard great things:)
