alright folks, im kinda trying to touch the green side for a bit, as im getting tired of seeing this red and black card in my black / white / blue themed case xD

what card{s} should i grab for 1920x1200 or higher resolution to last me a while ?
- monitor will be 27+ inches, not sure on resolution to pick yet!

heres my options:
keep the 6970 and go crossfire
570
580
570 sli ( if my psu and board could handle the setup without bottlenecks / changes to be made, the board will be upgraded in beginning march time)
other (make a suggestion)

i dont prefer either brand, its just been a while for me since i was at the green side, therefor giving it a shot.

p.s. i do not overclock anything graphics card wise period please dont ask me why, its just a habit of mine to leave the gpu's at stock.

580 + a waterblock is 600 ish, whereas 570 SLI is 800+ with 2 blocks.

Bit difference. How fast do you wanna go? Dunno if you WC yer blocks, but for me it's a given in this bracket.

hmmm, good idea, i could WC one card easily with the cpu being in the same loop i think, my loop keeps the 920 right now at 1.3v core below 60 on load

ill consider that as well!

p.s. short offtopic, im getting that ssd this weekend that u suggested

I'd prolly go with the 580 then under water, single fastest gpu besides price can't go wrong there.

And the C300 is badass especially on intel 6gb sata ports, thats a win.

thanks for the info man, i hope the ssd is good enough to convince my buddy to buy one as well, as im upgrading his rig this weekend as well, ill be working on 3 rigs at the same time xD i7 920 / i7 2600k / amd 965 be ... itll be F U N !

and i have just confirmed that xfx would void my warranty if i would put a block on the card{s}, therefor i would have to switch to a better manufacturer anyways.

quick quote out of their warranty write up:

XFX won't void warranty due to the waterblock. They'll void it if you fubar your card while you're putting on the waterblock. Remember, waterblocks reduce XFX's load, since they keep the cards cooler and since it's cooler there's less chance of heat damage.

580 will be abit of an upgrade but not that much for how much extra your paying ... Wait till mid year and the new series of ati cards should be close to release and they will be awsome .. dont waste your money now the 6970 is a good card man its on par with the 570 .. Some overclocking might change that 580 is a beast though , for the price of coarse it is ... U know for a fact if u just wait something newer and better will come out and youll be kicking yourself.
