I too had a similar pipe dream.

Hearing the Ballad of the Windfish still kind of gets me all choked up, too.

I didn't really like Twilight Princess either. After the gorgeously designed Windwaker the pixely graphics just didn't sit well with me.

In addition to being a direct sequel to OoT, WW was also it's true successor in terms of quality. I wouldn't mind seeing Windwaker on the 3DS either.
I couldnt agree more with this post.

WW was a beautiful game tailored specifically to cover up the technical disadvantages of the GC. It didn't matter how much power the GC had, the cartoony graphics (unique cartoony graphics I should say) were beautiful regardless.
Shifting to the Wii, which isn't too much better than the GC, and trying to give Link a realistic "next-gen" graphics were pretty poor (by next gen graphics I mean the style if you know what I mean).
Even then though which is like double whammy: while still in SD resolution, TP still had a ton of graphical inconsistencies aside (like you mentioned alot of pixelation).

I don't mean to sound like a graphics whore, there was alot of things wrong with TP imo aside from just the graphic direction. I didn't enjoy the story or the gameplay as a whole.

Major's Mask I enjoyed in general. I never completed it though, back when I played it at that young age - I wasn't really keen on completing games under a time limit. I remember playing games like Resident Evil, Megaman Legends, and Ocarina of time for HOURS and HOURS on end just roaming and not actually completing anything in particular. Used to love those days I just never got back around to playing Majora's Mask again seriously enough to beat it. I have seen other people complete the game though.

I must be in the minority. I enjoyed Majora's Mask more than Ocarina of Time. OoT is awesome and I'm sure the remake will be awesome too, but I loved MM's story and atmosphere. I loved that all those characters actually had lives and went about their day. They weren't just standing around for Link to talk to them. I also liked the time traveling aspect. Being able to influence things by going back in time was just a fun concept. It was also one of the more difficult Zeldas. Neither OoT, WW, or TP were very difficult. WW was especially easy. Hoping for a remake for this game as well.

I think that both OoT and Majora's Mask were beautiful games. Though, at first I really did not like Majora's Mask. It took me a while to grow into the story and really immerse myself in the game. Once I did, it was truly a spectacular game. However, A Link to the Past is by far my favorite Zelda game of all time. I remember playing that for hours as a kid trying to get everything in the game. To this day I will still dust off the old SNES and play a few hours. That being said, my second favorite would have to be WW. It was so unique at the time (and still is IMO). I spent countless hours just sailing around the map exploring everything, and when you find the old kingdom of Hyrule...... it hit such a special spot in my heart.

It really is a shame Nintendo didn't do something like this, especially when they have for other games. Like Pokemon Fire Red/Leaf Green had loads added after the ending in comparison with their predecessors, Red and Blue.

While I am in favor of things to do after defeating Ganon, I don't know if I would be in favor of pasting Majora's Mask on afterwards as the two games would be hard to combine. Mainly referring to how Link abandons all the items he found in Hyrule upon journeying into the lost woods. Not only that, but the start menus are different.

However I believe it could be accomplished in a similar manner to the time warp in The Temple of Time, where you have different items/character settings as a child or adult. Upon entering the under workings of Clock Town from the lost woods, you'd simply undergo a warp. Your items when you enter each side of the fence would switch to fit both worlds. The menus could be switched as well.

Although it would be somewhat hard to perfect. With Majora's Mask's time system, it would have to reset each time you left that world. Not only that, but Link being able to ride his horse as a child in Ocarina of Time may screw up some of the boundaries set up so that Young Link cannot enter areas that are intended to be for the Adult Link only. In example, the Valley of the Gerudos.

Now, one could say that maybe Nintendo could add something for Young Link to do in these areas after Ganon is defeated. Or that they could simply restrain the horse from it's abilities in these particular scenarios. All of this said, I think it would make more sense for Nintendo to just add something smaller after Ganon is defeated then simply remake Majora's Mask as well. Or that's my view anyway.

I will always prefer Majora's Mask over Ocarina of Time. Ocarina of Time was a generic Zelda game gone 3D. Majora's Mask was much, much more.
