Need Input on Friend's AMD Build

Thread Starter
Friend is looking to buy here soon. Wondering if anything should be changed before its purchased. Also, we were wondering if its possible to unlock the 555 into quad core on this mobo. Thanks.
-Edit, were not looking for a beast of a computer, since all he plays is Garry's Mod & Team Fortress 2.

looks all good. and yes it is possible to unlock the 555 into a quad core, but it might be unstable. you have to try and fiddle with it. youll most likely need to increase the Vcore on the CPU as well since youll be running another 2 cores.

If you are going to OC for him I would advise getting a CPU cooler just to make gaming safe and you can get a quad stable out of it with good temps.

Phenom II x2 555 + ASUS M4A87TD EVO - $180 (Much lower price, much better board esp. for unlocking)
Corsair XMS3 1600 7-8-7 - $55 (ShellShocker deal, valid until midnight tonight)
Gigabyte GTS 450 + Antec NEO ECO 520W - $170, $145 AR (GTS 450 equals or outperforms HD 5770, 520W will be enough, all in all this is a great deal)
Samsung F3 1TB - $55 after promo code HARDOCP112C
Coolermaster Hyper 212+ - $27.43 shipped on Buy.com

Total cost: $487.43 before rebates - For a few dollars/cents lower than your original selection (which was $490), you get 2x HDD space, CPU cooler, better RAM, better mobo.
