F2a, Just make sure the cooler is not moving around too easy when you grab and twist it. Tightening down the screws like mentioned will not make you happy in the end!
Apart from the fact that Noctua tell you to fasten it down until the screws turn no more.
Fastening the heatsink to the CPU
Caution: Please take off the protection cover at the bottom side
of the heatsink first!
Take off the centre fan. Then put the heatsink onto the CPU and
screw it to the screw threads of the mounting bars.
Caution: Tighten the screws until they stop.

I see that you don't have a NH-D14, have you even installed one? If not could you please refrain from spreading misinformation.
If you have installed one using your idea of how to install it, on friends or clients PC's then I would highly recommend that you contact them and let them know that you have installed it incorrectly and admit that you didn't bother to read the installation manual.Edited by smash_mouth01 - 4/26/11 at 7:45pm
