i7 920 First Time OCed to 3.3ghz, check up - Page 2

Would be very surprised if you couldn't get 3.8GHz or even 4.0GHz stable with the Mugen 2.

Thats a great start, however you can probably push your CPU a bit farther even with the stock volts. I was able to get my C0 to 3.6 on 1.088v however my voltage wall ramps up from there almost exponentially.

Great start but at this point you would be better off determining a manual vtt which will help you in the future. Check out the guide in my sig.

Currently my QPI/VTT is set to auto. I'm planning to go for 3.8ghz with 1.2000vcore and start lowering there until unstable, then go up again. What QPI/VTT would you guys recommend to begin with?

Just to update,

Today I went and purchased a H50 CPU Cooler and increased BCLK to 180. I'm now running at 3.8ghz stable with 1.24v. My QPI/VTT voltage is also at 1.24v. After running Prime95 for 3 hours or so my 100% Load temps are around 65-66 avg and 70 max. Seems that Core #0 is always the hottest of all the cores.

I want to lower my VCORE but at 1.2 v and QPI on auto I get BSOD on prime95. What would you guys do differently??

Thanks!

What BSOD are you getting? 101 or 124? If it is 101 you need more vcore but 124 is QPI.

I would avoid setting QPI on auto. Also, you might just want to leave it at 1.24 while testing how low your Vcore can go, its usually best to test one thing at a time.
