New build, modified Gateway mid tower. - Page 18

If you built your pc and over clocked correctly, it shouldn't over heat. Please tell us more about your fish tank! I'm intrigued!

still kinda working on the fish tank concept.

But it would be a closed loop instead of open.

Lets see if you can wrap your head around this.

Main reservoir on a stand above the pc, secondary smaller reservoir just below the main reservoir.
both tanks are sealed. as water flows down from the main tank, the negative pressure will force water up the tube from the second reservoir back into the main tank.

It will basically be a siphon that will be constant, even when the pc is off.

I could even add a hand pump to start the siphon if needed, once its started i probably would not need to pressurize it again.

The only reason it needs to be sealed is to keep the water flow controlled so one reservoir doesn't out work the other.

think it will work?

I know what you mean, its like trying to steal petrol from a petrol tank with just a hose. You suck the hose until the petrol comes out then you let the hose empty the gas tank by itself.

The thing is, if I bend the tube up vertically, the flow of petrol stops. Its the same with a manuel fish tank pump, as soon as you point the hose upwards or hold the pump higher than the fish tank, the flow of water stops.

If you can't solve that problem. Then your pumpless wc loop won't work.

@OP, instead of bragging on about how your concept will work, why don't you get to work and build it.

Prove us wrong or **** off.

Naaa siphons can flow up.... ive siphoned many O gas tanks. Once the siphon starts, it don't stop until the liquid is gone.

Herons fountain wasnt designed to be sealed. It would be interesting to see how it works. and he also used air to pressurize... I would just have a simply priming pump and that is all.

"Also its already been proven a siphon can work in a vacuum state." but of course this setup wont be a vacuum... but if siphons can operate without air... i'm sure this can be done.

Also lets not forget we will have negative pressure from the main reservoir keeping the siphon in perpetual motion.

I believe the key will be to reservoir placement, and tube diameter. Smallest tube possible for the second reservoir. Smaller the tube the easier it is to create a siphon and also less water to push up the line.
