low SLI usage in BC2 - Page 3

This may seem obvious, but did you try running the game in full screen and not in a window? Though perhaps you just took a screenshot of it in a window to show the GPU usage along with framerate?

For sure, v-sync being on or running in windowed mode could cause this issue.

Now that this is out of the way, I'd say if you were to rank the most common questions on this board over the past 10 months, they'd go like this:

1) Why does my system or drivers crash when I play games?
2) Why is my gpu usage so low in BFBC2?
...

The short answer is ... a TON of people have this issue (there's even a sticky at the top of the forum ... although it says 'fermi', I'm guessing it can effect any setup). nV is aware of it. Every time a new driver comes out, a bunch of people say 'it's fixed! yay!' and then a bunch of other people say 'it's not for me! boo!'. Nobody knows why this happens, and nobody here is going to give you a magic answer (unless it's one of the two things above). Having a fast i7 would probably help the situation, but I wouldn't guarantee it.

Yeah, I cannot figure it out. I have seen people complain about low GPU usage in BFBC2 since it came out. I have only had the last couple of sets of nvidia drivers but I have always had the usage you see in the last pages graph using afterburner. I am usually between 96-99% with some of those low spikes you see.

I don't really like the game so it wouldn't have bothered me either way but something just doesn't make sense. I would love for someone to solve the caper.

Game might be fun, but it's unoptimized like hell, it requires more CPU resources than running crysis 2 times.

Im actually getting really good GPU usage on this game around 95-99% most of the time. Im getting the same issue he has with Starcraft 2.

Have you tried running with sli disabled?

GTA 4 still has problems with sli, because its not supported.

Do you get a lot of slow downs when the usage is like that?
And is that sp or mp?

You guys try running without the osd?

My usage mp.
