Recommend me a fan controller

Title says it all.

Looking for a 5-6 fan controller, preferrably 6. Price not really an option (gotta pay to have the best, just like you gotta pay the cost to be tha boss). Going to be running a San Ace 38mm fan, the rest will be hopefully a few GT's and a bridge fan on my mobo (that screams like a biotch that I'd rather not open NVIDIA Control Panel to deal with) and the stock CM 212+ fan. I've been told to look for 30-45W fan controllers. Black in colour to match the case would be best.

I've currently got a Kaze Master from Scythe (KM01-BK I believe) that the San Ace blew out two channels on so I need one that can handle the voltage/wattage/whatever-measure-of-electrical-jazz that the San Ace needs. No other problems with Scythe though.

The ones I've found thus far are the Kaze Master Pro (KM03-BK; confirmation from Scythe that the San Ace blew out controllers [possibly] and that the 03 wouldn't have those problems), the Lamptron FC2 and the Sunbeam Rheobus Extreme.

I DON'T WANT ANY LEDs EITHER or a way to easily remove them without ruining the warranty on the fan.

Looking for the best option between the three stated and/or other considerations.

Have at 'er! And thanks in advance! I don't know what I'd do without these forums (probably not spend nearly as much money).

Nothing but good things from Sunbeam. I believe these do have LED's though. So that might be a downer right there.

I've got the Rheobus Extreme. The lights on the knobs are pretty bright, but it fits inside my case door so I rarely see the lights.
I've got one channel running 2x3000RPM Scythe Ultra Kaze's, and it does just fine. Another channel runs both of my 250mm case fans, another is running 2x120mm fans. One channel has 2 sets of dual 12" CCFL, and works as a dimmer switch for those. The other 2 channels run a 2x40mm RAM cooler and another 60mm internal fan.
The only thing you need to do is buy a few 3pin Y adapters for it, as mine didn't come with ANY. They are cheap, but S%H kills unless you buy 3-5 of em.
And it does give off a little heat from the HS assembly behind the knobs. Not much, but just letting you know beforehand.
The new Rheosmart DOES have LEDs, but very small ones that just indicate the voltage.

I'm really like the Rheobus Extreme. The LEDs appear to be a lot less brutal than the Rheobus itself and I've always been wart of Lamptron and their LEDs. Just having lamp in the name makes me a bit queasy. Plus the nice blacking grating will match very well with my Antec 900. Six channels, 30W per channel. I think we've got a winner. Also, what's with the different colour LEDs? What do red and green mean?

I've also seen substantial amounts of literature about removing/replacing the LEDs so I may just have to void the warranty or something. Especially if they're fairly cheap. Only problem is that I live in Canada, where the parts are more expensive and then they heap a 13% tax on your afterwards. Or 20% duty if you try to ship it cross-border. And most of the big computer companies don't accept international billing addresses or stick me with their crappy .ca affiliates.

So what I'm trying to say is... will someone with an American billing address adopt me? I'm potty-trained and I'm good at mind-numbing physical labour. And I make a mean lasagne.

EDIT: Upon further searching, it looks like it's the Rheobus Rheosmart in the picture provided by Nixuz (can be found in mbudden's link one post above). That would be the one I spoke of liking above, not the Rheobus Extreme. Digging the Rheosmart right now. A little tough to find though.

I've got a Scythe Kaze Master Pro and I'm satisfied with it. smile.gif It isn't as flashy as all those touch screens and what not, but it's quite stylish on my CM 692 together with it;s blue LED fan at the front.

I've got a Kaze Master and I like it but it couldn't handle the San Ace and blew. I was told by Scythe it wouldn't happen with the KM03-BK, but who knows. I'm not looking for a flashy touchscreen either. A knob will do and isn't as distracting.

Ah, right, that's a shame.. Well perhaps consider a simple Rheobus then? Or lamptron, they all offer some kind of simple controller with knobs, just watch out that hey can handle enough power for your fans.

Good luck. thumb.gif

fc4 leds arent bright at all. no where near as bright as sunbeam controllers. good solid controller. i got one just a few days ago. in fact the led itself is behind the knobs so only a tiny bit of light comes through the cracks. i cut my finger installing the sob though. had to apply alot of pressure to get it all the way in and my hand slipped and caught a sharp edge in my case.
