Idk, I would've bought a new mobo and kept the CPU. I was fine with that. But the tech guy said the CPU was probably the faulty thing. I told him I thought it was the motherboard, but he disagreed and wanted to test the CPU first.

So I just returned both for 100% refund and ordered an i7 2600k for when they get them in, and bought the Gigabyte motherboard. Figured why not.

Cpu are tortured in the Intel faculty to insure this doesn't happen. This tech guy doesn't know what hes talking if he thinks the cpu is faulty. The chances of a faulty cpu are SO low to point of being possible.

But now I get to have two Core i7 holographic stickers on my case. It's so worth the wait for a new i7 2600k. Plus I get a new fresh one. It'll be like... 4 days newer. Woot. Hah.

It'll also be from a newer shipment... maybe better batch? :O. Lol probably not, probably all the same batch...

I didn't mind returning the things though. Long as I don't have to wait *too* long for my new CPU to come in.

I prefer this Gigabyte motherboard, but it doesn't have the GUI user interface that Asus had (I obv am just looking at youtube vids right now, can't actually boot it). It's all black so I like that. Heatsinks on this mobo look MUCH better quality (and feel heavier/better) than the Asus ones.

Well, plus side: I have the UD4 now.

You know how sitting down feels so much better when you've been standing for a long time. Or sleeping is more satisfying when you're very tired. Or food tastes better when you're starving. Well... hardware is nicer when I had to go through all this. xD

Ahhh talking about bad motherboards just hurts my ears (and I'm reading with my eyes, not my ears).

I hope my motherboard will be just fine.
