My HTPC does that, it does it better and I have access to mouse/kb as well as multiple controllers from the couch. Bet you've never played Amnesia, alone at night, with the lights out, surround sound on a big HDTV.

I guess you have never heard of connecting a PC to a HDTV.

If you don't want to pay for something you can't afford just because it's cool . screw you ... a company already loosing money for selling a console will not give you the kind of graphic a PC at 800$ can for 300$...

I would like to have a yacht and sing ''I'm on a boat'' all day long but I don't go saying I WANT A YACHT AT A PRICE I CAN AFFORD WITH THE SAME TECH AS A 9 MILLION $ ONE. I just find something else to do with my money .

I guess you never heard of unboxing your computer, hook it up with two wires, power and HDMI, insert disc and play! HTPCs are all nice and dandy but they're NOT the mainstream device for lounge gaming because they pretty much are always customly tailored by people proficient with PCs. How much of mainstream is that?

P.S. Yes, I have an X-BOX, a FAT-BOX and ofcourse.. THE-BOX. The latter gets the most attention

The top quote would be a good response to a different post.

"You guys" in this case referring the PC gamers of OCN. I don't need to remind you that this isn't mainstream.net. Prebuilt desktop/home theater PCs are frowned upon (and extremely rare) here.

Just saying that if you think that couch potato gaming is yet another console exclusive activity, think again. It might not be mainstream for PC gaming but us "GUYS" haven't just HEARD of it but we've also DONE it and in ways that nobody else could have possibly imagined.

ASSuming is the mother of all *bleep*-ups. "You guys" was targeted at the specific quoted posters, not PC gamers as a whole but it did include you. You as well as I know that HTPC gaming is a different beast and to get to such setup takes a whole lot more than a few hundred dollars and the basic knowledge of hooking up HDMI cables.

Yes, I've gamed on my big screen, heck my sigrig is just another piece of furniture in my living as well. What's your point? What's your point at all? The actual point I tell you. Console gaming and devices are synonymous to easy-to-setup, power-up & go gaming in the comfort of a living, a setup like a PC traditionally has no place in a media cabinet under a big flat screen.

*Feels semantic discussion coming up (LOL)*

Is there something wrong with sitting on my couch with the G51s surrounding me looking over at my high end rig connected to the big screen? Your argument is a moot point. PCs are just as easily connected and you can buy all the PS3/X360 controllers for your pc you want.

So anyone saying that consoles are better for fighting and racing and such can knock that off as well. My 360 controller works just the same on my PC as it does your console...I just get to enjoy FAR better visuals.

It's form factor people. Ofcourse for people like us it's a piss easy thing to either build a HTPC or hoook up your own gaming rig to your bigscreen. These however are exceptions, not the norm. Sony isn't saying MMO gaming can be done on a console only and not on a (HT)PC.

A Console is a device geared to:

- Playing media content (for the sake of it, games are media content)
- Easy setup
- Easy use
- Being aestatically pleasing for exposed use in a livingroom i.e. inside a media cabinet.
- Provide a common, invariable hardware platform (very important)
- Cost effectiveness

I guess you've never heard of HD TVs having VGA and DVI input, as well as bluetooth keyboards and mice.

Even without the latter, my friend (Who has a Northwood Celeron and SiS integrated) said he prefered arkham asylum on my PC on the HDTV than on my Xbox.
