Max length of DVI to HDMI cable?

Thread Starter
What is the max length that would work for a DVI to HDMI cable without hindering performance/quality?
I'm using a 50ft hdmi right now with no problems.

I have a 40 ft. DVI<->HDMI cable from Blue Jean Cables.

You could potentially go longer because I think I found the maximum length I could take powered USB extenders out to back when I was researching it over 2 years ago, same with HDMI+DVI, and used the lowest common denominator.

So at least 40 ft. and probably further.

I have a DVI-HDMI adapter hooked into my GTS 450 that I was trying to use to push HDMI from my pc to my Mitsubishi 60C10.

After a couple hours of debugging, I've found that the connection works if I use the 6 foot hdmi cable I had lying around, but not if I use the 50. Does the DVI out on a GTS450 just not have the power to do 50 feet? Been forum crawling and I'm hitting tons of dead ends

(Looking back now, it's interesting that I can't find any record of the mini-hdmi to standard hdmi plug that should have come with the card)

If using a vga cable is an option- I have used 50 ft cables with out any issue.
