Every case is unique.

As for general bad experiences in the past (especially ones older than a couple of years), I cannot do anything about that stuff. Not going to lie, some of our product suffered about 4-5 years ago when we started producing notebooks and systems.

I will help rectify problems in the past to the best of my ability, but I like to think in the present and to the future.

I was actually kinda joking with the getting a video card for free thing. I saw how a fellow OCN member was taken care of by you guys after his bad experience and I am pretty impressed. Good work on your part getting things done.

So i have a 570 and wondering about how the card clocks up and down. In afterburner i see when i go 3d it clocks up to 3d clock. Then when back to desktop, it drops to about 400mhz, then a min later down to 50mhz. Great, nice an cool. But sometimes (like now) it seems to get stuck at 400mhz, it will clock up to 3d clocks, but not any lower than 400mhz. Not a big deal but i would like it to clock down to 50mhz and remain ultra cool. Only way to make it do so is restart.
Anyone know how to get round this?

PS My MSI GeForce 4 Ti 4400 is still rocking. haha.

Prime example: N480GTX Lightning.

We, literally, got this card done in September. Early October was when I seeded this for review. GTX580 came out November 9, 2010, 2 days before my birthday.

I got so much gripe about how this card was ****ty, about how or what MSI was thinking.... frankly, a lot of things are done beyond my control.

NVIDIA pulled in the launch to catch AMD off guard (and to promote Call of Duty Black Ops), and it was a great strategic move. But it also instantly made GTX480 irrelevant in the marketplace.

How hard is it to market something irrelevant? It's not hard, because you simply don't do anything. All that can be done is to run rebates and discount the pricing.... and eventually users will realize that there is some inherent value to this at a discounted price.

Beyond that, I'm not surprised. GTX400-series was never properly executed (even GTX460 wasn't properly executed) and GTX500-series is just a market correction move from NVIDIA so that both companies are on the same playing field again.

You sorta answered your own question....

- We make our own products
- We have the experience of making our own product (25 years)
- We like to innovate and forward-think. We don't want to be a "me too" brand.

But some will sell based on price alone.

Some other companies still uses older capacitors that can leak and/or explode under heavy load. We're using an all solid capacitor design now.

Ti. New Ti is coming soon. Might want to get another Ti soon.

Jokes aside, lifetime warranties are nice but there's a lot of exclusions and needless fine print that you have to go through. Frankly I really like to use the automotive industry as the perfect analogy:

When you buy a car, WHY IN THE WORLD WOULD YOU NEED TO REGISTER THE CAR TO GET WARRANTY SERVICE? You, as the consumer, should already have warranty associated with it when you buy the car.

Same with most other electronics out on the market.... WHY? It's a bonus and helps keep track of the product for yourself and the company, but to me it's an unnecessary step for something that you should be entitled to.

Now, expanding the current warranty period to, say, 5 years, that makes sense. But lifetime w/ registration? Besides what I pointed out above, I'd like to note the other problem: BFG.

What if the company no longer existed? Who takes care of your warranty?

I'm not saying EVGA or Zotac or some other company will go under anytime soon, but there's a lot of stuff on warranty that companies don't account for.

And lastly: warranties are a guarantee, fitness of product that we offer the end user that purchases said product. It is also a 2-way street in the sense that we expect honesty when filing claims. Many, MANY claims are rejected and/or people abuse the policy we provide, even under the standard 3 year period. I can't imagine the absurd abuse coming in if it was lifetime.

Well, I am just taking stuff out of my own funding to help him out. Basically it just means one less person this year will get a giveaway from me at an event because I have less funding to work with.

There's no such thing as a free lunch unfortunately.

The Hawk has the potential for up to 1GHz. However, as you guys are all aware, the actual OC you can get out of the card varies.

Unfortunately this was all done before I even saw the first shipment in North America, so the damage was already done.

"Up to 1GHz is possible" is what I would want to say.

Probably either VBIOS update or driver update... since it's a reference card you might want to see if others have the same issue.

That is great to hear.
