Did you try contacting NCIX? I think you are legally entitled to return the card to them for a refund if you aren't satisfied with it.
And they shouldn't be allowed to ding you with a restocking fee, in this case.
I've heard though, that the previous-generation 470 and 480's had "beefier" vrm's, etc. then the early reference 570's for which some of them had issues.
It's possible that the 470 pcb version may be a potentially stronger card.
But, that's based on my experiences with a 470, and a couple 480's that I'm still running.
As for the newer cooler design the 570's usually come with, they may run a bit quieter and cooler than the 470. I tend to remove the stock coolers from my cards shortly after purchasing them thoughEdited by DerComissar - 11/7/11 at 4:54pm
