New balls :D

Got it yesterday. Cancelled the Asus GTX 580 (reference) and went for Gainward GTX580 GOOD smile.gif.

I was so set on Asus that I've waited since last December to become available... but this baby stole my heart. So I will soon part with my "older" GTX480.

Stock clocks 783/1566 MHz, memory at 2010 MHz.

Here's the official link for the card http://www.gainward.com/main/vgapro.php?id=452

The card looks better "in person" than in pictures. The silver shroud is aluminum. A very well put together piece of card. Swapped w/ problems in my case although it looks a little bit longer that the GTX480.

Installed the MSI AFB 2.1 Beta6 to also see the VID, which is 1.012v for 3D.

Noise: the two 80 mm fans spin (in 2D) @ 30% while in 3D they didn't go over 50%.

Temps (ambient tem 24.5 C): 38 idle, 56-58 C in Fallout NV, 59-61 C in Black Ops, NFS Shift, Borderlands - that's with the fan controlled by the card's BIOS, no more that 50%.

Virtually, literally inaudible.

I didn't have time to test it further. Tonight I will see to it... running on 266.58 WHQL.

Enjoy the pics.

Nice! :3 Although those temps are the same as my 580s at 1.1v 900/1800/2200 so I don't know it is it really helping... Is that still a reference board?

Not a reference board I think - seems a bit longer and the color is not black.

The temps are with the fans @ 50% speed, don't know the actual rpm, but they're "barely" spinning smile.gif.

Just checked mine rev up to 60% to get those temps, still silent. But very nice you will be able to be cooler at 100%. biggrin.gif

I remember I've set the fan profile at one time in 2D and @ 44% speed the temps were around 35 degrees C. I only tested for maybe one hour before hitting the sack, it was late. Will do more testing these days, esp. in weekend, when I'll have more time.
